At KIPP Somos Collegiate High School, we are a community of college-bound learners proudly rooted in who we are and where we are from. We belong here, and we thrive here. We seize every opportunity to grow socially, emotionally, and intellectually on the path to fulfilling our dreams.
KIPP Somos Collegiate High School will educate 160 college-bound 9th grade students in the founding year and grow each year to ultimately serve approximately 600 students by 2022.
Our student body will be approximately 94% Hispanic, 3% African-American, and 3% Caucasian.
We commit to supporting all our KIPPsters on the journey through college by offering a robust Advanced Placement program. All students enroll in Advanced Placement (AP) courses starting in their freshman year and grow to complete over 10 AP courses by graduation. These courses provide students with rigorous college-level material and expectations and provide students with opportunities to earn college credits while still in high school.
We support all our students in being ready for AP courses and for college through individualized learning. Individualized support through blended learning is a critical part of our program, and our team adjusts their teaching and leverages technology to best meet the needs of all learners in the classroom.
KIPPsters participate in purposeful extracurricular programs including art, computer science, numerous athletic teams, and personalized clubs.
