Tina DeValk began her career in education as a Spanish teacher. Ms. DeValk spent the first ten years at a traditional public high school where she held several leadership positions such as Foreign Language Department Chair and District Leadership Intern. She was also a member of several campus and district committees such as Campus Improvement Plan, Teacher Quality, Attendance and Foreign Language Curriculum Writing Committees. In 2011, Ms. DeValk accepted a position at KIPP University Prep High School as an Instructional Coach. The following year she earned the position of Assistant School Leader. In 2014, Ms. DeValk accepted the position as Co-School Leader. She holds a B.A. in Spanish and an M. Ed. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, both from The University of Texas at San Antonio. Ms. DeValk’s interests outside of education are varied. She enjoys movies, playing with her dogs Mylo and Molly and trying new and interesting foods. Most of all, she enjoys spending time with her children, Jared and Madison. They also enjoy spending time at the beach, lake, river or any water related activities.
