Nancy Ocasio is the School Leader at KIPP Un Mundo Dual Language Academy. She served as a Kindergarten mentor teacher and grade-level leader during the school’s 2012 founding year. She went on to serve as the Assistant School Leader prior to being assigned her current position.
She graduated from Concordia University with a Master’s Degree in Education Administration and Early Childhood through 12th grade Texas Principal’s Certification. Mrs. Ocasio also graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and Texas Teacher Certifications in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, English as a Second Language, and Information Technologies.
Mrs. Ocasio has served elementary students in many capacities for 13 years. She served as an Assistant School Leader, campus leadership team member, campus Response to Intervention (RTI) Coordinator, campus Gifted and Talented Coordinator, campus Technology Coordinator, K-4 elementary teacher, mentor teacher, and grade-level chairperson.
She is originally from El Paso Texas, has served in the US Army, and has traveled to many different places around the world. She has met people from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds, and looks forward to continue building upon those relationships with her staff, students, and parents.
She considers herself very fortunate to be assigned as the School Leader of a Dual Language Academy that is dedicated to promoting bilingualism and biliteracy in students, thus preparing them to compete and succeed in today’s demanding global economy. She treasures being a part of the KIPP San Antonio team and family.
