Kurtis Indorf currently serves as the Chief Academic Officer at KIPP San Antonio, a network of college-prep public charter schools serving over 3,000 students in San Antonio, Texas.
Before joining KIPP San Antonio, Kurtis was the founding Executive Director of The Achievement Network in Colorado. As the Executive Director, Kurtis focused on building relationships with senior-level leaders across the state, coaching and advising system-level education leaders on organizational and academic strategy, supporting and developing a high performing team of leadership and instructional coaches, and overseeing the impact, design, and implementation of all work across the state. Kurtis also served as a gubernatorial appointed member of the Charter School Institute board of directors, overseeing charter authorization across Colorado.
Previously, Kurtis served in four founding school and system leadership roles at Achievement First, a public, charter management organization running 32 schools in New York, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. In his final role at AF as the Senior Director of Program Strategy & Design, he spearheaded major programs and initiatives across all schools, including teacher development, digital learning, strategic partnerships, curriculum and instruction, and academic operations.
Kurtis started his career teaching English Language Learners in Phoenix, Arizona through Teach for America. He lives in San Antonio with his wife, two daughters, and two dogs. Kurtis received a Master’s of Science in Education from Arizona State University with a focus in secondary English curriculum and instruction and a Bachelor’s of Science from Ithaca College in Integrated Marketing Communications and Legal Studies.
